Are all models dumb?

accreditation
Judging by the latest headlines, it would seem that models might actually be less clever than previously thought. Recently Tshidi Thamana, Sabina Essa and (former) FHM Modelbook 2011 Winner Jessica Leandra dos Santos have displayed some highly questionable behaviour.

Our findings
The  first model, Jessica Leandra dos Santos, tweeted: "Just, well took on an arrogant and disrespectful kaffir inside Spar. Should have punched him, should have".

When she was confronted on her use of racial tongue, she replied: “Would u all stop! These are the kinds of people that land up raping young girls of our country! I wasn't going to let him get away with it.”

The next headline-making case was Tshidi Thamana, who tweeted: "Dear Mr Peter Mokaba?… I wish all whites had been killed when you sang 'Kill the Boer', then we wouldn't have to experience @JessicaLeandra's racism [sic]."

However her defence wasn’t particularly well thought through: "Dear all … Why do people think I am a racist when I said it was wrong to be racist SMH [shaking my head] … Really!"

The last example is Sabina Essa, who while not being racist was still pretty reckless and landed herself on the wrong side of the law when she tweeted: “Just got out of a R2 500 fine for going 140 in a 60 zone. R30! Bwahahahaha. I LOVE JMPD.”

And when asked if she offered the bribe, she tweeted: “I didn’t offer, dumb-ass. They asked what I had. Of course, I’m gonna take the offer.”

She stated later that she made up the whole story for attention. That's so embarrassing the poor thing. Shame man.

Our conclusion
Models are (in my opinion) silly kitties. And Twitter is their sand box.

Maybe I’m being too harsh? Because of course there is a difference between a model who has used her looks and her smarts to build a successful career and a woman who just happens to look good in a bikini.  But the behavior of these wannabe models reinforces  the stereotype that you can either have beauty or brains – not both.

And that is, of course, absolute nonsense. So come on girls, make us proud for a change, okay?
