Dress yourself slim

I have never met a woman who looked better in baggy rather than fitted clothing. The amount of shape required will vary from woman to woman, but shapely rather than one big bag can take kilos off any figure.

Here are a few tips on how to look slimmer with shape:

Define your waist: Giving definition to your waist shows balance between your shoulder/bust and your hips. It also makes your legs look longer as they look like they start from your waist, not the hem of your top.

Fake a waist: If you don't have much of a waist, you can fake it. Rouging does wonders to create an illusion of a waist. If this doesn't work for you, try a wide belt right in your waist.

Get your proportions right: Changing the proportions of your clothing can change the point of emphasis, making you look taller and slimmer.  Instead of wearing a long baggy top with a shapeless skirt, try a knee length A-line skirt with a shapely blouse that emphasises your waist.

Use colour and print cleverly: Women often resort to wearing black for the ‘slimming effect’, but clever use of colour can draw attention to the parts you like and detract from the parts you don’t.  For example, if you are bottom heavy, wear plain colours on the bottom and bright colours or print on top.  If you are top heavy, reverse it with bright colour  or print on the bottom to accentuate your legs and plain colours on top.
