Laser cellulite reduction: how it works

I recently visited the brand new Pulse Dermatology & Laser clinic, offering a rather unique menu of medical aesthetic treatments. Here you can choose from bespoke peels and facials, anti-ageing injectables, advanced fat removal and body sculpting treatments and pain free hair removal.

Owner, Amy, is the heart of Pulse. She immediately makes you feel at ease and is keen to share her wealth of knowledge from her years of experience working in similar clinics in the UK. What is brilliant about this clinic is that treatment programs are tailor-made, designed to treat each and every individual for their particular skin or body concern.

For a reduction in the appearance of cellulite, Amy recommended I try the Cadillac of cellulite treatments, the NIR. NIR stands for Near Infra-Red. This is the type of light emitted during your skin tightening treatment. The treatment uses a safe infrared light that heats the skin and the tissue immediately under the skin’s surface.

This procedure is ideal for those wanting fantastic results, using a non-surgical aesthetic procedure. Let’s face it; going under the knife can be a) very daunting and b) very expensive.

The treatment is relatively painless and takes about 30 minutes. While I could already see results after a single session, it is crucial to go back for between 5-6 treatments, scheduled 2-3 weeks apart for the best results. There are no quick fixes people...

The heat produced during the treatment stimulates the infiltration of fibroblast and the formation of new collagen, while also tightening the existing bundles of collagen and elastin in the skin. It is almost like the laser irons out all of your ‘creases’. The sensation can get rather warm towards the end. I really enjoyed the sensation, but make sure to communicate any discomfort to the therapist.

This “double” stimulation both thickens and tightens the skin, strengthening the natural “scaffold” that gives our skin structure. This not only improves the skin’s immediate appearance, but also helps to bolster the skin against future aging. The presence of healthy collagen in the dermis helps maintain the skin’s youthful resilience and texture.

The best candidates for NIR skin tightening is anyone that has loose, sagging skin of a mild to moderate degree and wants to tighten and re-contour the area.

And, it’s not only effective on your bottom and cellulite-ridden areas.  It also works on areas on the face, chin, neck, body and laxity of abdominal skin post-pregnancy or post surgery.

Try it, it’s really fantastic.
