Eyeshadow
There are some great modern metallics now on the market, such as Anastasia Beverly Hills’ Eye Shadow in Icy. This finely-milled powder is a light blue with silver which can be lightly dabbed on for a hint of shimmer, or layered for a more dramatic effect. Inika Organics’ Loose Mineral Eye Shadow in Blue Topaz is an opulent hue and can be applied wet or dry as a shadow or eyeliner, or try Clinique’s Chubby Stick Shadow Tint for Eyes in Big Blue, a lightweight pigment which allows for a swift wash of colour.
Highlighter
Silver-blue or lilac-based products may not seem like an obvious choice when it comes to highlighter, but these shades are becoming increasingly popular. Makeup Geek’s Duochrome Highlighter in Celestial is an ice-blue with violet base which is great on porcelain skin tones. While MUA’s Undress Your Skin Highlighting Powder in Ice Sparkle looks great on warmer and deeper complexions, especially when dabbed on the top of the cheekbones or under the brow bone. And Milk Makeup’s Holographic Stick in Supernova is great for all skin colours, as it merges lavender and golden peach pigments for a mesmerising result.
Nail polish
If the idea of ice blue make-up sends shivers down your spine, why not try the trend on your nails? Falling somewhere between silver and blue is Laura Mercier’s Attitude, a perfect metallic polish with a glossy finish. Or grace your digits with Nails Inc.’s Belsize Mews Gingham Nail polish - featuring a blend of matte and white jumbo square particles, this varnish serves up a happy medium between light blue and silver for a modern look.
