Some people like fashion writer Leandra Medine figures puffy eyes are a genetic heirloom. And all you can do is make peace with its existence. Yet there are a few easy (and speedy) tips and tricks you can follow to reduce the appearance of puffiness underneath the eye area:

Concealer

Concealer is usually the go-to product for disguising under-eye bags.  Use an orange-coloured concealer to cover dark circles. Apply product to the shadow or crease and not directly to the bag itself. According to beauty vlogger, Wayne Goss, by putting concealer on the bag, you are in fact highlighting and ensuring that the darkness stands out. You should create a pattern that draws the attention away from your under eye.

Eye shadow

A lot of makeup experts swear by using eye shadow or an eye pencil. It’s important not to pick a dark colour that enhances your dark rings even more, so rather opt for warm tones, such as gold, pearl and white. Lighten up the inner corners of your eye by dotting and blending in the light eye shadow. Eye shadows with some shimmer will brighten up your eyes, making you look less tired.

Lipstick under your eyes

Makeup vlogger, Deepica Mutyala, shows how darker skin tones can use lipstick to conceal dark circles. Dab your makeup brush on a lipstick and mask your bag with either an orange, red or maroon lip colour. Once the lipstick is applied around your eye, blend in the colour with concealer.
