The internet has blown up over Kim Kardashian West’s concealer shade range because the reality TV star seems to have missed the diversity mark on this one.

Kim released the shades for her latest KKW Beauty concealer range on Sunday night and, according to Harper’s Bazaar, a barrage of Twitter users have accused the mom of three of only catering to light skin tones with this line. But could Rihanna have something to do with the outburst?

When the Wild Thoughts hitmaker launched Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation last year it had 40 shades – a colour for all skin types. RiRi seems to have set the tone (pun intended!) for other beauty houses, while Kim’s new product on the other hand only offers 16 new shades.

The problem is twofold, according to the Washington Post. This is because the line doesn’t include concealer that works for dark-skinned women and it used a dark-skinned model, someone who couldn’t even use the product, to promote it.

According to Metro, a model for the KKW campaign has responded to the criticism. Mouna Fadiga took to Instagram, saying: “I can tell you that they did not choose me only to pretend; I had the makeup on and It fits perfectly my skin colour. I am not wearing any makeup usually so I know when I have it on if it’s good or not and here it was the case, I even kept it on me and went to have dinner with a friend [sic].”
