Makeup trends to wear for 2017
Soft pink lips are IT right now. Opt for a pink lip gloss and smudge it a bit across your lips so the colour fades out towards the edges for a just-kissed look.
Try: My all-time favourite, L'Oreal Color Riche Extraordinaire Liquid Lipstick Fuschia Drama or the NEW! Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Bold Liquid Lipstick in Passionate Pink.
Glitter lips are also key for summer as it's still party season. See how to get the look here.
And we are completely obsessed with two looks seen at the recent Golden Globes: Emily Ratajkowski’s coral-tinged lip colour and that deep purple pout sported by Kerry Washington. K-pow!
Harper's Bazaar suggests that glowing, youthful skin is the most coveted of all skins at this very moment. More often than not, yes, you'll find that people prefer young skin that glows rather than skin that's been passing its time in the morgue.
But it's important to note here that the focus this year is on a minimalist approach to makeup. Keep it light if you can, add rosiness to cheeks and highlighter across your temples and cheekbones for that Gigi Hadid glow. Less looks fresh. Less is more.
Saint Laurent and Isabel Marant both gave us simplistic beauty looks on the ramp last year, and we are taking it to heart (or face?):
Try: PREVAGE® Anti-Aging Foundation SPF 30 PA+ or if you need a bit more coverage, opt for Revlon's ColorStay™ 2-in-1 Compact Makeup & Concealer or the Chanel Ultrawear Flawless Foundation, which glides onto your skin with ease:
For highlighter, try: Catrice High Glow Mineral Highlighting Powder
Glossy and smudged effects are preferred to perfectly manicured eyelids. Chloé gave us demure eye looks that showed a very basic approach to eye makeup. Basically, the lazy girl's guide to eyeshadow. There are no rules!
Use a creamy eyeshadow like this one by Bobbi Brown:
Or play around with our favourite eyeshadow palette from Urban Decay Naked2 Basics:
Or if you want, pair your understated smudged smoky eye with an exaggerated eyeliner that says "I'm a retro kween".
