This might be the only makeup tool you'll ever need

accreditation

As a beauty intern, I come across many new different products and tools that sometimes make me rethink the core value of my beauty routine. Yet often some of these tools turn out to be one-hit wonders, but not the beautyblender® (BB), which is curently my fave.

Ever since the beauty blender was introduced, my whole makeup application method  has been reversed and flipped– and in the best way possible.

This little egg shaped sponge has made my beauty routine so much easier and is so perfect for applying makeup, but did you know that it is a bit of a multi-tasker?

We give you 5 ways beauty blenders can be used:

1. Foundation

This is the most common use of the beauty blender, I feel like some of us still need a step-by-step tutorial on this as many of us still fail to use BB’s with our foundation.

1.       Wet your BB and make sure it is damp before you use it. It mustn’t be soaking wet or else it will just remove the product from your face.

2.       Apply your foundation with your foundation brush and use the BB to blend it.

3.       Once you are done using your blender, wash it with lukewarm water and leave it to air dry.

4.       If you have a powdered foundation, dip the small part of your BB on your powder, tap off the excess and dab the sponge onto the skin.

2. Prime

The beauty blender presses the primer into the pores and fills them evenly, more so than when you use your hands. The small ends are perfect for applying eye lid primer.

3. Contouring

The beauty blender is not only perfect for blending foundation but it can also be used for contouring as well. The trick to getting your contour and highlight on point is to use the tiny tip to reach those small places your normal size beauty blender can’t.

4. Eyeshadow

You might have never thought about using the beauty blender for eyeshadow, but it is an amazing way to apply and blend your shadows. It reaches the edges so perfectly and makes eye highlighting a breeze.  Thank me later!

5. Lips

The BB is perfect for blending ombré or faded lipstick looks. Apply your lip liner first and then your lipstick (liquid/matte) and then blend with your mini BB. You can also use it to prime your lips, so the possibilities are really endless.
