When it comes to applying eye shadow, creating a smoky eye or a perfectly winged cat eye often seems really complicated and frustrating! Where does which colour go?

Eye contouring on the other hand, is a simple and an easy way to make your eyes pop. Especially during the day.
We asked locally-based makeup artist, Shahnaz Cola-Wrensch to share her best eye contouring tips to help us achieve brilliant eye makeup results without the fuss (i.e. this look won't take you 2 hours to master).

"Contouring the eye is basically a way to enhance your eyes by focusing on the crease of the lid and the bottom lash line. Use neutral shades like taupes and tans to contour - a good blending brush is needed to get into the crease and a pencil brush to work the bottom lash line.
"I love to apply a lighter shade on the lid to enhance the contour shimmer shades (cream shimmers also work really well).
The rule: go darker for the contour area (which is the crease of the upper eyelid an the line of the lower lid) and lighter on the ball of the lids to really enhance your features.
Skin tone tip:
Depending on skin tone, lighter neutral shades are preferred for fair skin tones, tan shades for medium and chocolate shades for darker skin tones.
If you have a darker skin tone then work with bronze shades for your lighter shade and if you are fair, champagne shades work best.
