As models tend to rely on beautiful, healthy, glowing skin to do their jobs, we thought we'd ask a few of them what they do to keep their skin looking fresh and flawless.

"One step in my skincare routine that I think has been vital is serum! I cannot stress this enough - this step is so important, and the younger in adulthood you start using one, the better. There are literally serums for every age and skin type."

Jessie Crichton

"The most important step in my skin care routine is to remove make-up ASAP (and never, ever sleep with it on; no matter how tired I may be). Coconut oil is ideal for this as it moisturises your skin at the same time.

"I prefer to use natural products, so a chilled avocado mask is probably my favorite. It reduces inflammation and brightens the skin!

"Pay attention to (and be patient with) your skin. It will tell you everything you need to know; whether this means having to cut back on alcohol/dairy/sugar, drink more water or get a good night's rest."

Marciel Hopkins

Most important step in your skin care routine?

"Taking my make up off at night and hydrating my skin with a moisturiser."

Favourite skin care product?

"Sci+Ceutic skincare products: wash, moisturiser and sunscreen."

"Never go to bed with make up on and rest your skin at least 1/2 days a week (not wearing make up). And sunscreen, always!"

"It’s an obvious one but sunscreen first, ALWAYS! I try to stick to brands that consist of mostly natural ingredients.

My favourite being Heliocare advanced gel with an SPF of 50. It contains Fernblock (natural ingredient) which provides high-level broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection and at the same time is high in anti-oxidants which helps prevent the signs of aging.

"I tend to change my products up regularly to avoid my skin becoming dependent on them. I’m obsessed with facial oils, people tend to shy away from them thinking the product will make their skin oily but it’s quite the opposite actually.

Currently I am using a new local South African brand's, Eco Diva, facial oil and it work wonders. I am also loving the new Dior Hydra Life Sorbet Creme, it leaves a cooling sensation on the skin after you apply it which feels amazing after a gym session. The product is also 83% natural.

"I make sure I drink at least 2 litres of filter water a day. Nothing like cleaning the skin from the inside out. Also if I have the time a dark green veggie juice every morning. It’s the only thing that has helped reduce my dark circles under my eyes."

Most important step in your skin care routine?

"The most important step in my skin care routine is cleansing, and more cleansing. With so much makeup, my face constantly has to keep up with, it's so important to wash it off thoroughly because it's the lack of not doing so that usually leads to my breakouts.

Every skin needs to breathe. It's pretty much an adopted habit now: get home, put bag down and wash it all off, simple and so effective."

Favourite skin care product?

"I started using Neutrogena 2 years ago and haven't looked back since. The Extra Gentle Cleanser paired along with the Visibly Even Moisturiser does the trick for my naturally dry skin. The moisturiser has built-in sunscreen too which takes the hassle out off applying it separately."

"Just one? I actually have two. Thanks to social media we get a hold of information so easily, and turmeric was one I came across and decided to try. It absolutely works.

Mixing it with yogurt, lemon and honey as a face mask and leaving it on for 15 minutes weekly has kept my skin radiant and more even. That, and a lot of water amplifies your face and body's health - inside and out."
