I recently tried the much talked about Lush Sleepy body lotion, R 265, made with a gentle oatmeal infusion, calming lavender flower and comfortingly sweet tonka absolute.

Its smell is intoxicating and the lotion almost acts as an extra comfy blankie, hugging your body as you slip into dreamland. So give this all-natural, snooze-inducing product a go! Sleeping is one of the best and cheapest ways to relax your mind, body and soul.

Introduce a morning scrub into your routine that’ll energise and invigorate your skin and your mood. Shop these delightfully flavoured coconut matcha or coffee cinnamon scrubs online now!. Kahve. Body scrubs, R 280 each.

Nothing like a facial. We recently tried a few:

1.

“I recently had the opportunity to try the new Dream Reveal treatment from Dream Nails beauty salon and what a blissful experience it was.

You can experience a manicure, pedicure, hydrating facial mask and a glycolic acid rejuvenating peel – all in an hour!

The all-encompassing treatment costs about R920 but if you only choose the facial and peel, you’ll pay R490. The facial includes a cleanser, toner, glycolic peel, a mask, serum and moisturiser and you get an analysis of your skin, which helps to find out which problem areas to tackle.

(Side note: let your beauty therapist know whether or not you’re claustrophobic because your entire face gets covered and “locked” in by a thick and super hydrating mask for a few minutes. Oh and if you wear contact lenses like I do, take them out before or when you get there)." - Tammy February

2.

Glasshouse Rejuvenation, now located in the SILO district in Cape Town, offers a Sothys facial to combat dehydrating called the indulgent Hydrating Facial, R750 (75 min).

I arrived with rather dehydrated winter skin and left looking like (what I hope resembled) a teenage version of myself. A big plus is that it's a really beautiful spot to retreat to, and they've got a big selection of treatments to address what feels like any beauty concern you may have.

3.

"I got to try the Optiphi Classic Indulgent facial, R610 (60 min) at the Life Day Spa in the V&A Waterfront recently and it was the most amazing experience – especially with it being my first facial ever!

The therapist uses a tailored skincare regimen with scents and products targeted to your specific skin concerns.

I had dry patches around my nose and mouth due to blowing my nose from allergies and this treatment sorted that out in no time. All the aromas, textures and sensations from different products like exfoliators, serums and moisturisers give your skin a boost and get it back to its optimal state of suppleness.

I definitely recommend this as a treat for yourself or as a gift – believe me the person receiving it will be grateful! My skin immediately felt as soft as silk" – Carmen Williams

One day

Special occasions are all about going luxe. Save for a special event like a birthday and celebrate with your friends at one of these elegant spots:

Opt for a treatment (or day!) at Steenberg Spa in Cape Town or Saxon Spa in Jozi. Both spas are perfect retreats away from the chaos of city life.

Try a heavily Hot Stone Massage - R935 (90 min) at the Westin in Cape Town’s ultra-slick Heavenly Spa. So deeply relaxing, this treatment is designed to release tension. And that it did – and then some! A bonus when you go here is enjoying the relaxing pool, dry spa sauna overlooking the city and Jacuzzi area.

This pool tho...#pamper #pool #spaday
