Now it looks like watermelon will soon be having its moment in the mask department. Yep, you read right.
Time to take it up a notch, Queen B.
Welcome to the latest beauty craze: the Korean Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask, a pale pink luxurious gel that has a 5000 person wait list,
Korean beauty experts, known as the K-beauty duo and Glow Recipe co-founders Sarah Lee and Christine Chang recommend keeping an eye on this fruit as it's packed with nutrients.
"Watermelon is one of Korea's most popular fruits. It symbolises family get-togethers, mother to daughter DIY skincare sessions, and is a powerful hydrator," said Chang in an interview for W Magazine.
This mouth-watering melon helps to improve the body system and also acts as a powerful skin-beautifying agent. It helps to purify and exfoliate your skin, giving off a baby-like freshness effect that makes it feel soft and radiant.
What makes this $45 (R580) lightweight, non-greasy tub of magic even more special is that, according to the duo, the fruit is rich in potassium, vitamins C, A, and B6, which is traditionally used to soothe sunburn during summer. So when the overnight mask is applied and removed the next morning, any underlying redness will be soothed.
The breathable mask feels good on application, according to many Instagram users.
