Bad Company compiled and edited by Joanne Hichens
I really love short story anthologies... they are perfect for spending a few months next to the bed acting a little like a swimming pool, letting you dip in and out whenever you need a little break.
I particularly enjoyed this one – a collection of stories from South African crime and thriller writers.
With everyone from the fabulous Margie Orford (because who DOESN'T love Margie Orford?) to Deon Meyer, Mike Nicol, Meshack Masando and Andrew Brown carrying you with them on escapades from Khayelitsha to Joburg and back; this is a great read, full of nice nuggets of excitement.
It's also lovely to actually identify with the areas in crime novels for a change and introduces you to some great SA talent. Buy this book. It's great.
