Immortal: Love Stories With Bite by P.C. Cast (Benbella books)
Immortal consists of seven short stories all revolving around vampires. I found it very entertaining, but some stories held my interest far more than others. I also loved the fact that P.C Cast explains (in her prologue) why she thinks people are fascinated with these creatures.
She talks about how vampires are immortal, youthful and how most people find the possibility of living forever incredibly attractive. And who wouldn't want that?
While each story takes a slightly different angle on the bloodsuckers, my favourite was Binge. It was provocative and heartbreaking at the same time. The two young woman share a vast range of emotions: pain, love, friendship and loyalty, are all put to the test. I love the way Rachel Vincent describes the emotions, and it makes for a riveting read.
