Stargazer

Since this was the first book of Claudia Gray's that I have read I wasn't entirely sure what to expect. Twilight was also fresh in my mind and I didn't want to relive that again.

I am however a sucker for fantasy books so I had to give it a try.

This is the second book in the Evernight Series and I was a little worried that I wouldn't be getting the entire story. Thankfully my fears were not necessary as Claudia explains the story in bits and pieces throughout the book and putting two and two together is fairly easy.

The story revolves around a school for young and old vampires, where they can learn how to blend in with a modern society. The main characters are Bianca, a half human half vampire girl, and Lucas, a vampire hunter. After Lucas leaves (in the first book) and embraces his life as a hunter of darkness, Bianca is broken but determined to see him again. She’s willing to lead a secret life if that is the price to pay.

After a series of events that leaves Bianca vulnerable she decides that her life can’t continue without Lucas.

From the first page this book is one you will not be able to put down. You fall in love with the characters and it is a lovely relief from sparkly Twilight vampires!

If you love fantasy and vampires, this is definitely a book to sink your teeth into. Be warned though: You’ll be disappointed when it’s over.
