Best winter books and movies

accreditation
With winter here, how can a girl have some fun without stepping out into the cold streets? If you’re anything like me, curling up with a great book and a hot cuppa is always the perfect way to spend an icy day. Here are a few books that will keep the chilly blues at bay:

Fifty Shades of Grey: Romantic, liberating and totally addictive, Fifty Shades of Grey is a novel that will obsess you, possess you, and stay with you forever. If you’re brave enough, you’ll want to read book two and three in this adult fiction trilogy.

The Last Rhinos:
Sometimes funny, sometimes moving, always gripping read. The Last Rhinos is another extraordinary story of life on a South African game reserve from the authors of The Elephant Whisperer.

Calico Joe: An unforgettable novel about childhood, family, conflict and guilt, and how a lifetime of tragedy might finally be forgiven. If you’re a John Grisham fan, this book is a must read.

If you really don’t feel like running in your lace tights in 10 degrees, then a good ol’ DVD or series box set might just save the day. I don’t know a single girl who doesn’t enjoy the odd rom-com. So why not have a steamy night in with these classics?

The Notebook
: When you consider that old-fashioned tearjerkers are an endangered species in Hollywood, a movie like The Notebook can be embraced without apology.

Sex in the City: The awesome foursome are back after the HBO hit series and they never fail to put any girl in good spirits.

PS: I Love You:If you’re feeling like a good cry, this movie embarks on a journey of rediscovery in a story about marriage, friendship and how a love so strong can turn the finality of death into a new beginning for life.

For good measure, Anita and Deon Meyer’s Enjoy! is the best cook book you’ll need to keep those winter hunger pangs away!
