(Spoilers ahead obviously)
I don't know about you, but there's nothing that irks me more than having a book, series or movie spoilt for me.
Yes, yes, I know. Pot meet kettle and all that (nonsense about irony), but just bear with me for a second.
Because, unlike this article in The Daily Mail (just look at that SHOUTY headline), I'm not writing with the intent to reveal what you undoubtedly already know about the forthcoming Bridget Jones novel (if you didn't before - um, sorry about that - although we do have to add that you were warned).
My thoughts are more along the line of the impact that spoilers have on those of us who have suffered the injustices of having major plot points revealed to us.
For me, I don't only care about the fact that, one way or another, the journey that takes me to where the story eventually leads (this is the excuse people make who like to justify their reasons for ruining things for us), but I also care about the actual story.
This means that I'd rather prefer to find things out on my own - especially when it involves the death of a character.
I have no doubt that this "big reveal" was divulged for the purpose of generating buzz, but considering how popular both the book series and movies are, was this actually really necessary?
I don't think so.

But why don't you tell me what you think? And in which category do you fall?
