Series focus: Sookie Stackhouse

Book series are all the rage these days and Charlaine Harris's Sookie Stackhouse novels have quickly proven to be one of the most popular book series out there.

In fact, for those of you don't already know this, True Blood, the tv series, is actually based on the Southern Vampire Mystery Novels as written by Charlaine Harris.  We bring you a brief overview of the books.

Warning: There may be possible spoilers ahead for those who haven't read all the books yet.

Book 1: Dead Until Dark
Dead until dark introduces us to Sookie Stackhouse, a waitress and telepath in the small town of Bon Temps in Lousianna. A string of murders occur in the previously quiet town and everyone suspects the town’s newest neighbour, vampire Bill Compton. It’s up to Sookie to prove them wrong and fall in love along the way.

The TV series True Blood follows almost exactly the same story line except for one or two small details. For instance a beloved character is killed off and another one is fleshed out in an entirely different way in the series.
