Not too long ago, I posted a piece about the fact that I am happy, despite not being in a relationship, followed by an article about the perks of being single.
Now, while I may not be ready to commit at this stage in my life; and, while my parents and their parents may have divorced soon after they tied the knot, I do realise that not all marriages are doomed for disaster.
In fact, I know of many couples – even some close friends – who are blissfully betrothed.
So, to prove to you that I am not cynical, herewith, a list of some of the benefits of marriage:
You have someone to share your life with
From creating a home and starting a family, to sharing big responsibilities and momentous experiences...
You can have sex anytime
Unless you and hubby are going through a dry spell or if one (or both) of you are suffering with a low libido...
You have more money
Well, of course this is only the case if you both have (good) jobs and if you both contribute equally and manage your budget properly.
You have someone to open the pickle jar
And change the light. And take out the dirt. And carry in the grocery bags. And and and... Seriously, though: If there’s one thing I hate most about not having a man anymore is that now I have to do all these things whether I like it or not!
You have a in house sperm donor
Not only do you have someone to father your children, but (hopefully) he can help raise them too! Many women aren’t as lucky, so count your blessings.
Have some more perks that I didn’t mention? Pop them in the box below and tell us how blissful your nuptials are.
