This couple’s enchanting Cinderella waltz came with a fairy tale ending – thanks to an adorable proposal surprise.
Dancing in front of a capacity crowd in an annual showcase at The Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Tennessee, US; Rob Crawford had more than just a spiral turn in store for his girlfriend of two years, Lacie Whitten.
“I wanted to give her a surprise proposal that was as beautiful and special as she is, and what better way to do it than on stage, doing what we love best?” says Rob.
Bowing and curtsying to each other before joining hands, Rob and Lacie sway, stepped and lilted their way effortlessly across the dance floor to the soundtrack If This is Love from the Cinderella movie.
Met with an enthusiastic applause from a captivated audience, the loved-up couple’s routine went smoothly – until Rob took an unexpected step out of place.
Turning to see Rob on bended knee, Lacie was left speechless, until she saw the diamond ring in his hand – which was met with gasps and whoops of delight from all those present.
“It was amazing to all our friends and teachers to share this moment with us, not to mention Rob's daughter who ran on stage to congratulate us,” says Lacie.
Lacie was stunned because she never thought her beau would propose so soon.
“I was completely shocked. I had an idea that he was thinking of proposing soon but never did I expect it to be in that moment,” says Lacie.
“Lacie and I have been talking a lot about getting married recently, and I wanted it to be a really special surprise for her,” says a delighted Rob.
But that didn’t stop her from saying yes!
The couple plan on recreating the routine for their upcoming wedding in October.
“Rob always calls me his princess and this really was my fairy tale moment,” says an overjoyed Lacie.
