This doting husband-to-be proved you’d do anything for the one you love – after he flew halfway around the world to propose to the woman of his dreams in the most charming fashion.

Junsik “Jun” Yoon, who’s based in America, flew all the way to Helsinki, Finland, to surprise Minttu Nykanen, who had no idea her future husband was in the restaurant where she was having dinner.

Jun visited Finland in 2016 and secretly began looking for venues with pianos.

Not letting a long-distance relationship get in the way of his plans, he nervously walked to the piano in the beautiful restaurant, Kappeli, and started playing Ed Shereen’s hit song, Thinking Out Loud.

Sitting only a few tables away, a stunned Minttu soon recognised the voice she’d listened to while enjoying her meal.

"The shock didn’t go away and I was just so surprised, I was shaking,” says Minttu. “But I was very happy as well.”

Still in shock, the bride-to-be got up from her table and slowly approached 33-year-old Jun with her hands placed on her heart in total amazement. She watched as he played out the rest of the song.

"When I managed to get up and walk over to him, I just wanted to hug him – I had I missed him so much,” she says.

Following a long embrace, Jun got down on one knee and popped the question to the love of his life – and she said yes, of course!

"I was so shocked and surprised for a long time afterwards, but also so thankful to him and also to my friends who helped to set up and film everything,” the happy bride-to-be says.

The smitten pair met in 2012 in Jun’s home city of Seoul, South Korea. In 2013 they both started studying physical therapy – Jun in America and Minttu in Finland – and agreed to a long-distance relationship.

Since Jun’s novel proposal, Minttu has moved to the US to pursue doctoral studies in California.

The couple plan to get married soon and hope to have ceremonies in three countries – the US, South Korea and Finland.
