How we met:
When a story starts with “one night in Amsterdam,” it will surely be the best story you have ever heard.

We met each other by chance in Amsterdam on our Contiki trip and ended up spending New Year’s Eve together.
That New Year’s Eve we shared a kiss, which turned into 3am conversations and shared bus trips.

A stroll through Austria's Christmas market made us realise that we could possibly care more about each other than we thought. It turns out that Rynan is quite the sweet talker.

Before we knew it, our last day arrived (by the time we had to say good bye, we were in Paris), and having to leave each other proved to be a lot harder than we thought.

We went five days without seeing each other, but when we met up again – the rest of our adventures together began.

From Clarens to Finland, Berlin to Paris and America to Thailand, home for us wasn’t really a place anymore, but a person. We found our very own serendipitous moment and have been living the fairy tale ever since.

How he proposed:
On the 9th of April 2016 we decided on forever. It started off with a heart wooden box left at my gate, with two pink roses in it and a note to pack a bag. Clearly we were headed on another adventure.

We went on a canopy tour and a lunch stop at French Toast. Afterward we checked into Forum Homini, where we got ready for our dinner. Rynan seemed very nervous during dinner and kept shifting around in his seat.
After dinner we strolled down the path to our room. When we got there, I saw one of the most beautiful sights ever – jam jars filled with red and blue fairy lights. I still had no idea that it was actually meant for me and still made a comment about how beautiful the walk way was.

When I opened the door to the room there was a heart on the floor (made from rose petals) and a big frame with photos of us around the world.

Rynan went on one knee and asked if we could “share every adventure ahead together, in this life time and the next.” Before he even finished the sentence, I said YES!

We got married on the 15th June 2017

Due to meeting during our contiki trip our theme for our wedding was travel. Everything from the guestbook, cake, invitations and venue was related to travel.

We chose Avianto for our venue due to it feeling like you are attending a wedding at an Italian villa. Everything for our wedding was done by Rynan and myself and every single element was personal and related to our journey to the wedding day.
