The year was 2007 and we were both in high school. We are both from Pietermaritzburg and over the weekends, it was customary for the girls of the surrounding girls’ schools to go and watch rugby at one of the boys’ schools.

This was one such Saturday where my friend and I went to watch rugby at the boys’ school nearby.

As I was walking about I bumped into one of my neighbours who attended the school and he was walking with Sno (Sinovuyo).

We were officially introduced then. I say officially because, it being a small town, I had some idea of who he was.
