The woman interviewing me was so nice, gave me water and offered tea. That turned out to be one of the nicest interview experiences I have ever had. She was nice, professional, and even called me to tell me that I was placed second.

I was recently invited to an interview at the new FNB building in the city centre (Loop Street).
The building/meeting rooms are made out of glass. So I get in, do the interview, but on my way out – the glass was so clear I thought the door was open.
I bumped into the glass with my forehead, in full view of the panel! They were so apologetic, but I just wanted to vanish into thin air. I’m sure they must have had a good laugh after I left.
I have not had a call for a second interview… and quite frankly I don’t mind. I’m sure they have a nickname for me by now. - Noma
I went on an interview awhile back. The gentleman greeted me by my name so I thought he knew who I was. He started by saying, "Okay, I see you are single and have no children" (he was looking at my CV). I told him that I do have children and didn't think anything of it.
We chatted a bit about what I do, etc. The interviewer then proceeded to ask me about work saying, "Oh I see you worked here, what did you do?" And I just looked at him, my mind ticking like crazy, because I didn't know what he was talking about.
Eventually, I mentioned that I hadn't worked where he mentioned. He proceeded to tell me that he had a different Liesel's CV in front of him.
And if that wasn't embarrassing enough for the both of us, it turns out his secretary had gotten confused and called in the wrong Liesel for the interview. I wanted to crawl under the table and die.
I still haven't found a new job yet, but I make sure I mention my surname on calls and at interviews now too, just in case... - Liesel
I study teaching and I am graduating this year. So, when I went for my very first interview, the first question the guy asked me was to tell him something about myself. I answered and then he said "I'm going to repeat the question, tell us something about yourself?".
I was so confused because this meant that I didn't give the answer that he was looking for. I answered again this time less confidently. He then again repeated the question.
I still didn't know why and from there on I stuttered and ruined the whole interview. I left with a red face and to this day, I still don't know what the guy wanted me to answer. - Elize
