Fool Me Once by Harlan Coben (first published in 2016 by Century)
Tall, strong, and trained by the military, Maya Stern is not a stereotypical vulnerable widow. Having seen her husband die, she is determined to find out the truth about a conspiracy that seems to go much deeper than it first appears.

When Maya’s dead husband’s image appears on their nanny cam, she knows for sure that something strange and dangerous is happening.

Who can she trust? Her brother-in-law, her army buddy, her nanny or her husband’s rich family?

She becomes suspicious of everyone, even more so when it seems her life is under scrutiny by a hacker who hides in the shadows of the internet. Then there’s Roger Kierce, the detective who is investigating her husband’s death, but has dubious connections.

Gripping, twisting and page-turning, Fool Me Once is a highly readable thriller with an engaging heroine who inevitably may not be all that she seems.
