Angelina Jolie:
Angie could never cram her eventful life into a 120 minute blockbuster! This incredible actress and humanitarian would need a Lord of the Rings style trilogy to tell her story.
From playing with knives and dreaming of being a funeral director when she was just 14, this superstar’s life seems like one continual rollercoaster. She's been married twice, is now engaged to one of the hottest men in the world, has 6 children, is an Oscar winning actress and travels around the world working for the UN. If that’s not a box-office hit then I don’t know what is!
Lindsay lohan:
When she was just 11-years-old, this child-star took
Hollywood by storm with the hit film Parent Trap. As her success soared, so did the attention from the paparazzi and, before long, Lindsay had burnt out. The
star became known for her partying ways and drug abuse and has already seen the
inside of a rehab facility more times than a 27-year-old should.
She has just been released from rehab and is trying her best to stay sober! This is one story we hope gets a Hollywood happy ending.
Charlize Theron:
Our home-grown honey has a story worth telling.
TheYoung Adult actress grew up on her parent’s farm in Benoni where her mom
shot and killed her alcoholic father in self-defence when Charlize was just 15-years-old.
She eventually set her sights on Hollywood where she was discovered causing a scene in a bank on Hollywood boulevard. She has appeared in some of the biggest films of the last decade, has had a string of high-profile romances and adopted her first baby boy last year.
Khanyi Mbau:
We think this South African soap star should be given the
leading role in a soapie about her life. Khanyi was born in Soweto and raised
by her single mom, she made it big when she landed roles in two South African soapies
but was fired from both. She went on to marry journalist-turned millionaire
Mandla Mthembu in 2005 amidst claims that she was a gold digger. The two
didn’t last, filing for divorce just 9 months later!
This year she featured in
the reality tv show Reality Check but we’re almost positive this is just the
beginning of this soapie queen’s dramas.
Charlene, Princess of Monaco:
South African-born Charlene, Princess of Monaco has a story that earns her a place on this list as ‘the real-life’ Runaway Bride. Charlene, a previous Olympic swimmer met her husband Albert II, Prince of Monaco at a swimming meet in his native country.
The two were soon engaged but a week before the wedding, rumours started circling that Charlene was getting cold feet after allegations that Albert had fathered a third illegitimate child.
Charlene was spotted trying to make a break for it at a French airport but was stopped by police in a dramatic scene that we can only imagine would make any Hollywood director see dollar signs.
Apparently it took "intense convincing" to get Charlene to go through with the wedding but the palace says the "ugly rumours" were born out of jealousy.
Anneline Kriel:
Anneline’s story is not only set against the backdrop of one of the most turbulent periods in our country's history, but is filled with enough scandal and intrigue to fill two film scripts.
Anneline was only 19 when she crowned Miss World in 1974 after a controversial decision by the original winner to step down. She made headlines in international media as the face of the Apartheid state and faced an onslaught of criticism from apartheid objectors.
After her contentious reign, Anneline became embroiled in a scandal over a number of nude photos that were taken on a holiday with her then boyfriend, Richard Loring. She also made a name for herself by marrying a series of rich men including Sol Kerzner.
Her life seems to be one never ending drama and would make for the kind of movie we would line up to watch!
Amor Vittone:
Amor and Joost’s love story could rival any romance on the
big screen. The two were South Africa’s ‘it’ couple filling You and Husigenoot
with pictures of their happy marriage that had South Africans everywhere convinced they were the most loved up celeb couple we'd ever seen.
But it wasn’t long before Joost’s wandering eye got the better of him and he was linked to a series of sex scandals in 2009 that ended in Amor filing for divorce. The pair became engaged in a bitter custody battle that was splashed all over the media, and in 2011, Joost was diagnosed with a form of motor neuron disease that gives him between two and five years to live.
