Jodie Foster’s controversial Golden Globes speech

Jodie came out “about a thousand years ago”, but in her now epic speech she defended her right to privacy and basically confirmed what we already knew.

“Now, I’m told, that every celebrity is expected to honour the details of their private life with a press conference, a fragrance, and a prime-time reality TV show. And you guys might be surprised, but I am not Honey Boo Boo Child. No, I’m sorry, that’s just not me,” says Jodie jokingly.

The actress was given the Cecil B. DeMille Award, which is given for "outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment". Her friend, Robert Downey Jr., presented her with the award.

She then thanked her former partner and co-parent saying: “There is no way I could ever stand here without acknowledging one of the deepest loves of my life. My heroic co-parent. My ex-partner in love. My righteous soul sister in life. My confessor, ski buddy, consular, most beloved BFF for 20 years, Cydney Bernard. Thank you Cyd,” and spoke directly to her mom ( how sweet!) saying “I love you! I love you! I love you!

Also, how great did she look?! Can you believe this woman is 50? And it seems she’s well aware of how awesome she looks as she shouted to the audience when she first began talking “I’m 50! I’m 50! You know, I need to do this without this dress on, but you know, maybe later...”
