We can’t say we didn’t see this one coming, we’re only surprised by how long it has taken these two to finally make things official.
According to TMZ, Rihanna and hip-hop superstar Drake have reunited and are officially exclusive. Neither party has confirmed this but they’ve been spotted together around Europe enjoying the cuisine and the night life.
This could be the validation we need that these two are in a serious relationship.
It’s high time Rihanna and Drake became an official couple. Their sporadic moments of love have left us all confused.
To get a better understanding of why we are so over it and wish Drake would just put a ring on it already, have a look at the pairs romantic timeline over the years.
It all started in 2009: Rihanna and Drake have been on and off for a while, and many times she has been accused of using him as a rebound for Chris Brown.
They were first spotted together in 2009 at a cocktail lounge called Lucky Strikes Lane and Lounge where, according to Page Six, Rihanna and Drake spent most of the night locking lips.
The night of kissing turned into a short fling and most of us were glad that she was moving on after being in a very abusive relationship with R’n’B singer Chris.
2010: Most rap fans will know that Drake is very emotional in his music and he reveals a lot about his past and/or current relationships in his songs.
This was the case in April 2010 when he released his single Fireworks off the album Thank Me Later. In the song Drake tells us exactly what happened that night in Lucky Strikes Lane and Lounge:
Who coulda predicted Lucky Strike would have you stuck with me
Damn, I kept my wits about it, luckily
What happened between us that night
It always seems to trouble me...But I was curious and I’ll never forget it baby
What an experience you could have been the one, but it wasn’t that serious...

In the same year, Rihanna shocked the world when she came out with a head full of bright red hair and intensified sex appeal. She showed off her new look in a music video for her song titled What’s my name? featuring no other but drizzy Drake.
At this point it kind of seemed like something was definitely brewing between these two. The song is about a young couple who just can’t get enough of each other, Drake says he loves her soft lips and Rihanna tells us that he’s just her type.
Yes, it’s a song, but life has a strange way of imitating art sometimes and words plant seeds, in this case it was seeds of love.
I feel the chemistry, do you?
2011: In October, the romantic rapper was featured in Elle Magazine where he spoke about love, Rihanna and Nicki Minaj.
In the interview, he revealed that given the chance he would marry Nicki Minaj especially since his mother really enjoys her company.
What was surprising was his comment on Rihanna. Drake talks about how she hurt him because he thought there was more to what they had. Oh Riri, you heartbreaker.
The following month Drake returned the favour when he featured Rihanna, the woman who broke his heart.
The song is about a man and a woman who’ve been hurt in their past relationships. Despite fearing being hurt again, they take a chance on their love vowing to take care of each other.
2012: Music video for Take Care is released. Once again, the chemistry between the two is felt through the screen. The video has us wondering why they aren’t a couple since they are clearly into each other.
After the Take Care video dropped, it became obvious to the world that Rihanna and Drake had a strong connection.
During the same time, Chris Brown was making his way back into Rihanna’s life. This resulted in a dangerous love triangle with Chris Brown and Drake fighting over Rihanna. And by fighting we mean a physical altercation with bottles being broken and harsh words were exchanged.
One side of the story alleged the fight ensued after Drake zapped one of Chris Brown’s bodyguards at a club in New York, and Chris saw this and it did not sit well with him.
Fair enough, Chris’s entourage responded with a slur of insults. This then escalated to belligerence from both parties and came to a climax when a bottle was thrown, perfectly aimed at Chris Brown. It didn’t hurt him much though; he only suffered a graze on the chin.
Chris Brown’s bodyguard later filed a law suit which revealed that Drake had ordered for a bottle of alcohol to be sent to Chris Brown’s table with a note written: “I am f****** the love of your life”. According to the bodyguard, it was that rude and childish note that started the fight.
After a twar , exchange of insulting rap freestyles and tell-all interviews, the feud between Drake and Chris eventually fizzled out. Which was good, especially so for Chris who has a history of violence.
2013: The whirlwind romance continues when Drake speaks about Rihanna on the Ellen show. Once again, he is very ambiguous about their relationship. As much as he tried to tell us very little, the smirk on his face is a dead giveaway.
2014: In an interview with RollingStone Magazine, Drake denies ever dating Rihanna but does admit that being serious with the Bajan beauty would be an absolute dream. He even goes on to say she’s his ultimate fantasy but then says they’ll always be friends for life.
That’s a bit confusing, a person can’t be your ultimate fantasy AND your friend. You have to choose. It’s possible that Drake was trying to confuse us, yet again!
But the truth has a funny way of coming out, a few days after the RollingStone interview, Drake and Rihanna show us just how intense their chemistry is. The pair engaged in a sexual and sensual dance move on stage in Paris.
You have to watch this:
They did the dutty wine and we did not mind
Since that, uhm, steamy performance Drake and Rihanna have been spotted together all over Europe walking side by side and looking very happy.
We hope they’ve finally sealed their love. This on and off love thing has been going on for far too long now and it’s getting a bit boring.
To make things exciting for us and themselves, Drake and Rihanna should just confirm what the rest of the world already knows, that they are in love with each other.
