SA DJ Roxxi goes international

Finally! A woman with ambition and strive taking our musical talent toward global standards.

Born and bread in Durban, Deshnie Govender also known as Roxxi will be participating in the first ever Global Spin Awards 2012 (The DJ Grammys) in New York.

She has been in the DJ-ing scene for five years now, leaving a string of successful deck moments in her wake. Including the 5fm’s New Years Eve bash, NYE, Miller Durban July, Akon’s Convict Tour afterpary and the Axe Jet Campaign.

In a mostly male dominated industry, Roxxi has without a doubt won over a large fan base whilst working hard to promote the advancement of female DJ’s within the music industry.

“..I’m so honoured to be nominated in the first running of the awards,” said the hopeful DJ, “This shows that my talents have been noticed beyond the borders of Africa.”

The Global Spin Awards have been created to award and honour the world’s most dynamic DJs who have impacted diverse audiences globally and across genres. The awards are the ideal platform to honour and celebrate ground-breaking innovators that usher in the new and preserve our musical legacy.

We hope that Roxxi makes us proud.
