As the year draws closer to an end, it’s great to reflect on what your achievements were, where you need to improve and where you are heading in the next year. These celebs reflect on 2017.

Amanda Black

“I’m happy and grateful for all that I’ve achieved as a young artist. I’m on a great start and path looking at my career and how it’s taken shape in the past year. The achievements I’ve made and the love I’m getting motivates me to do even better. I’m doing what I love, I’ve learnt and continue learn so much more. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the rest of my career for my own growth. I don’t have plans to release another album next year, I may just surprise everyone, you never know!”

Thando Thabethe

“I'm forever seeking new adventures and this year for me was a year to do all the things I didn't dare to do...I started on a path of fearlessness and with hard work and God by my side, things worked out favourably.”

“2017 has been a year of highs and lows. The highs allowed me to gain a clear perspective on what is to come and what I need to prepare for and the lows forced me to regroup and re-evaluate my direction. The lows made me realise what I mean when I say keep your head down and focus on what matters.”

Terry Pheto

“2017 has been a harvest season for me and pursuing new avenues.  I implemented some of the ideas I’ve always had. As an artist I received international accolades that are validating and secure my position as a global face in the film space. I ventured into entrepreneurship with Lets Learn Toys with my best friend Mampho Brescia. It’s been a very good year; I’m so excited for 2018. I was bold this year and went for what I wanted and wasn’t afraid to fail, I didn’t about that at all. I focused more on the experience more than anything.”

“I have so many testimonies for this year of blessing after blessing, God has truly conspired in my favour and I believe it will continue. My professional and personal life is glowing, my children are healthy, and financially I’m glowing too. God has given me the best gift this year; He’s erased all anxieties in my life. I’m not anxious for anything: finances, love and romance, career moves, children, family, happiness and growth. God has continued to give me so much and He will continue to. I feel happy and at peace from a place of Godliness. I started this year with an empty vision board and I said a prayer for God to bless me in ways He saw fit and of which I deserve. I’ve had a beautiful year and I don’t think it’s going to stop.”

“I’ve had an incredible year, 2017 has been so anointed. Every single time I get an award, accolade or opportunity to do my work, I seek God and I trust Him. I then ask Him to take me to my next step. I feel this year for me has been an eye opener; it’s been a year of growth. There’s no stopping me.  My mind shifted in 2017: it feels like I went into a different gear, focus and ways to deal with problems, work, and people and with even myself. I’m so grateful for the shift. I looked at life and the world in a new way.  In 2018 I’m shifting into a completely new gear. As I’ve been doing for the past two years, in the last seven days of the year, I fast and pray for the new year. I’ll do the same once more. I’ll be going back to presenting and doing more exciting big things which I’m ecstatic about.”
