They say it’s hard to have real friends in celebville, but even stars need BFFs that have their backs – and there are a few who have kept their friendships going despite their demanding careers.
We’ve compiled a list of a few celebrity besties who have been with each other through thick and thin. They’re there to pop that bottle of bubbly when the other gets a massive gig but they’re there through the rough patches too.
These celebs slay together and flourish together.
Minnie Dlamini and former Miss SA Liesl Laurie
These two haven’t been friends that long but it seems their friendship is growing by the day! Liesl was one of a select few invited to Minnie’s wedding last year and Minnie was present at Liesl’s birthday party in December. They even manage to slay in matching outfits.
Pearl Thusi and DJ Zinhle
You cannot mention BFFs without thinking of these two. They have each other’s backs all the time and have proven what loyalty in friendship is.
In a recent Instagram post, Pearl wrote a long message to Zinhle on her birthday, telling her friend what she meant to her and what an incredible woman she is.
Their journey in love hasn’t all been smooth sailing but their careers have flourished. “2017 has been great but low key rude to us... so I really hope you have many more days of celebration and I pray you have a 2018 beyond your wildest dreams. I love you.”
Let’s hope 2018 be bigger for the pair.
Bonang Matheba and Lorna Maseko
After a much-publicised fallout with former bestie Somizi, Bonang found a friend in former Top Billing presenter, Lorna Maseko.
The two were seen queening and dining together in Cape Town recently, serving us all friendship goals. We like the fact that they’re living their lives to the fullest.
Babes Wodumo and Mampintsha
Some say they’re dating but the pair have always said they’re just friends. Babes and Mampintsha sing together, cry together and have Twitter meltdowns together.
All in all, they have each other’s backs – who wouldn’t love their kind of friendship? Babes is signed to Mampintsha’s West Ink label and they’re always together like bread and butter.
AKA, Da Les and JR
AKA and Da Les have been friends for years and unlike many other celebrity friends who have become frenemies over the years, these two have been loyal to each other and kept their friendship going.
The two have been by each other’s sides even after AKA and DJ Zinhle’s break-up – it was even reported that AKA was crashing at Da Les place after the split.
What more could you want from a friendship? AKA is also good friends with JR. In AKA’s world, brotherhood isn’t just a word.
Emtee and Nasty C
Not many know it, but yes, these two are friends. Last year they collaborated on Emtee’s track Winning – and it now has over 1,4 million views on YouTube.
But their friendship goes beyond the music.
They often visit each other to chill and take a break from their crazy careers. Interestingly, you won’t find them posting about their friendship on social media, but believe us – they’re thick as thieves.
