Serena Williams: tennis great, goddess and now mother-to-be has just given us all life with her amazing cover for Vanity Fair. She poses completely naked except for a pair of flesh-toned panties and a belly chain.

But the cover story is about love. The love between Serena and her fiancé Alexis Ohanian to be exact. It includes the details of how their story started (they met in a hotel restaurant when Alexis unwittingly ended up eating breakfast with her, what their first date was like (a six-hour walk in the streets of Paris) and how she told him she was pregnant (a paper bag filled with six positive pregnancy tests).

It’s enough to make even someone with a heart of stone feel just a little fuzzy. Seriously, when is the Disney movie coming out?

The cover and all the other photographs featured in the story were shot by the world-renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz who also shot a very similar cover with a heavily pregnant Demi Moore back in 1991. Both covers celebrate the female form as well as showing the power and strength it takes to carry a child.

Another great thing about Serena’s cover is the celebration of a different kind of body – that of a dark-skinned, black woman.
