It’s a sad day for soapie fans.
According to Channel24, Days Of Our Lives will no longer air on SABC3 from 20 July. This is part of the SABC’s plan to have at least 80% local content on its commercial TV station.
But, if you love Bold And The Beautiful, don’t worry. Your favourite show will still be on air.
I’m not a huge Days Of Our Lives fan, but I do have fond (I’m still not sure if this is the right word) memories of the show. Like Marlena being possessed by the devil and having to be exorcised, the Sammy/Carrie/Austin love triangle, and Stefano DiMera dying-but-not-really-dying so many times I’ve actually lost count.
But I’m not the only one a bit surprised by the SABC’s move to axe a beloved show. Twitter had some interesting reactions:
