10 Met Gala red carpet dresses we'll never forget

accreditation

The annual Costume Institute Benefit hosted by Vogue ed Anna Wintour will be held  this coming weekend on the 7st of May at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

This year's theme is 'Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination' to celebrate the masterworks of religious art in the museum’s holdings, according to Vogue.

But there is a twist, Anna Wintour won't be the solo host as she will be joined by co-hosts Amal Clooney, Rihanna and Donatella Versace.

Here is a look back at some incredible style moments from years past:

Rihanna

This Guo Pei gown was perhaps the most epic and memorable gown ever seen on this red carpet.

Solange

This girl loves a bit of shape and a lot of design.

Beyoncé

Always a queen on this red carpet, we loved her latex dress in particular.

Katy Perry

Girl lives for a bit of drama and this graffiti-style Jeremy Scott dress especially wowed us.

Sarah-Jessica Parker

This SATC star adores a headdress and set the red carpet on fire in this creation.

Kim K

Kim got everyone's attention in this 'house curtains' gown - unfortunately for all the wrong reasons. She still pulls it off, I think.

Anna Hathaway

To me, this Little Gold Riding Hood dress was a revelation.

JLo

Nothing like a bit of bum cleavage, hey?
