Flashback Friday: the best SAFTAs red carpet gowns from 2016

accreditation

We're looking forward to yet another glamorous fix of sequins, velvet and cheeky sheer gowns this Saturday from our local stars at the annual SAFTAs. But do you still remember your favourite gowns from last year?

Here's a quick reminder of the most memorable looks:

I know, Alichia Adams totally snatched my edges in this black Taibo Bacar dress. And Generations actresses Andisiwe Dweba and Chiedza Mhende made for a very classy black and gold combo.

Leandie du Randt and Samkelo Ndlovu also showed up in black gowns. Leandie's Suzaan Heyns midriff peekaboo design was just exquisite.

Queen of comedy Tumi Morake reminded us how beautiful simplicity can be in this white gown with ethnic beading.

Terry Pheto wowed us in Taibo Bacar and can we please talk about those gorgeous heels?!

The Mokoenas were a definite red carpet fave at last year's SAFTAs. Lesego's gold hip-accentuating maxi skirt was just too flawlessly tailored.

Entertainment blogger Lelo Boyana added a sprinkle of colour to the red carpet in this NN Vintage gown.

And would this even be a best dressed list without Bonang?
