We dressed 7 celebs for the Oscars - here are the results

accreditation

Hypothetically dressing celebs is much like eating a "fat free" frozen yogurt. Ultimately, disappointing.

Because you know neither the celebs nor their stylists will follow your clever fashion advice, and that yogurt, well, it's loaded with sugar. Sorry babes.

But despite my better judgement I'm taking the risk anyway (also getting a Myog later...).

This is what we wish these 2017 Oscar nominated actresses would wear to this year's Academy Awards:

Naomi Harris

Nominated for her first-ever Oscar for Best Supporting actress for Moonlight, she might opt for something bigger and bolder. She likes a bit of syrupy sweet whimsy, so I decided to dress her in this flower bomb by Giambattista Valli.

Michelle Williams

A Louis Vuitton girl uit-en-uit, Williams loves a bit of metallic sparkle. This Ralph & Russo take on the '20 flapper dress is perfect for her petite frame.

Viola Davis

Only a few things are certain in life. Death. Taxes. And the utter brilliance of Viola Davis.

She normally goes for figure-huggers with sweetheart necklines, which is why I want to dress her in either a black bow-detailed, off-the-shoulder, slitted Marchesa dress (left) or in this (right) orange Armani Privé one-shouldered piece of excellence.

But which?!

Emma Stone

La La lovely Emma is the doe-eyed starlet young girls aspire to be. Untainted by fame's dark side, Stone is one of those rare gems that seems to sparkle more with every $10 million she makes.

I would prefer her in this (left) blush pink ruffled Valentino ice cream gown - it will totes go with her hair. But she might also pull an Evan Rachel Wood and wear a suit. With a dress over it. Like Chanel showed us on Bella Hadid earlier this year (right).

Nicole Kidman

Nominated for Lion, Kidman might just take home the award. But if not, she can still dress like a Oscar statue, only in silver. I think this Chanel gown (modelled by Kendall Jenner) has just the right amount of tail feathers Nicole needs to win.

Ruth Negga

Another first-time nominee, Negga might just go for a classic, but eye-catching, princess-style look. And who better than Elie Saab to design that for her?

Natalie Portman

Still pregnant and glowing like an amber among some dull, dusty ashes, I can envision her in this pretty purple, fabric-heavy Valentino "sheet".
