One of our favourite sites, OkayAfrica, has released its first home-grown T-shirt and accessory collection called African AF.

Though they’ve released collaborative lines over the years, this is the first time they’ve imagined and designed everything in-house, and it really is a fresh-looking range.

“Some of our African AF designs were inspired by popular references, like Naija No Dey Carry Last, and others simply by how we, and our global community, feels [sic],” it says on their site. This line of T-shirts, tote bags and five-panel caps is quite fly and mad patriotic, which is what we need more of. Our favourite is their “Leaders T”, where they salute struggle veterans and global icons Nelson Mandela, Steve Biko, Kwame Nkrumah, Patrice Lumumba and Fela Kuti.

I know some of you brothers are always looking for ways to stand out, while the rest of us would rather go unnoticed, but if you happen to look our way then you will appreciate the swank. Either way, seems like a step in the right direction to making young Africans more proud of their home continent.
