Let romance blossom in your autumn wardrobe

accreditation

The season’s colour palette includes blush, camel, ochre and saffron, which Forever New has balanced with deep shades of ink, navy and grey.

The clothing chain’s Autumnal Romance Collection has printed wrap dresses, silky slip dresses and balloon sleeve shift dresses – a key silhouette to know. These can be worn alone with simple accessories or layered under structured coats and textural, oversized cardigans.

There are also metallic pleated skirts – a must all year round – that can be paired with oversized knits in muted tones of camel and grey, while focal-point heels will add an effortless desk-to-dinner appeal.

Red will also be a colour trend (try the Stella Maxi Dress) – the rich, warm and sensual scarlets are perfect to get you ready for the cold that is about to descend.

From the runways to the streets, delicate shades of pink, such as blush and mauve, have proven since 2015 to be the colours with staying power.

Regardless of the shade you choose, don’t be afraid to rock these softer hues in winter.

So, as the sun sets a little earlier and the nights get colder, you can use your ensemble (such as the Carla Deep Bardot Jumper and the Emmy Relaxed Straight Jeans) to lighten things up.

By pairing pink with your favourite black and grey staples, the ensemble immediately becomes both current and cool – especially for those who aren’t fans of any shade of pink.

If you want to look more neutral and toned, pair pink with complementary colours such as burgundy, camel and chocolate brown.

When the temperature really drops at night, top off your outfit with a coat – Forever New’s Maryanne Military Coat is perfect.

. The Autumnal Romance Collection is available in all Forever New stores, select Edgars stores and online at forevernew.co.za
