1. Don’t mix prints and patterns
It’s kind of easy to see where this rule originated from as mixing patterns and prints can be quite tricky at times. And it can go from pretty to pretty bad real quick if not done correctly.

2. Your handbag should match your shoes/belt
This is one archaic fashion rule that is no longer relevant. I mean who still does matchy-matchy? You can go for a colour in the same colour family or contrast.
3. Silver and gold don’t go together
So, once upon a time we were told not to wear different metallics at once. But guess what? We've broken that rule now as anything goes nowadays. Wear rose gold earrings and silver shoes or even wear plain colours and add silver accessories.
4. Women should wear only "women’s clothing"
Play with androgyny and combine traditionally "feminine" and "masculine" pieces for a sophisticated modern feel.
5. Over-sized clothes aren’t flattering
For a long time, skin-tight clothes have been in power. The supremacy must fall!
