Refinery29 reports that a video shared by Bella Hadid, Gigi Hadid's younger sister, on social media platform Snapchat shows Gigi apparently mocking Asian people. The internet has since responded, and it ain't pretty.
The video shows the sisters at a dinner party, Gigi is shown picking up a cookie sculptured to look like a Buddha or samurai. She then puts the image next to her face jokingly - imitating the seemingly squinted features.
Before being deleted by Bella, because of (we assume) the social media outcry, the video was reposted by a Zayn Malik fan page with the caption:
"this is y'all woke palestine queen? Gigi out here mocking Asian people. i would say she's cancelled but she never started. rat @GiGiHadid".
Gigi Hadid's boyfriend, Zayn Malik is of South Asian descent.
See the video here.
The model also recently came under fire for doing a mean/cringe-worthy impression of Melania Trump at the American Music Awards.
The backlashon Twitter was harsh:
Gigi Hadid been cancelled but now we know she's racist so there it is.
