#MondayMotivation: 5 ways to wear the pyjama trend

It’s slouchy (but not couchy) dressing that you can easily dress up or down depending on your mood or the occasion.

Like the inception of many mainstream trends, the sleepwear as outerwear trend started on the runways, filtered into retailers and the rest is history.

Getting this trend right does not require too much effort if you wear prints and colours that work for you and keeping your pieces crease-free is the trick. (Easier said than done, believe me)

Here are some ideas on how to get the most out of this trend this spring without looking like you’re about to hit club duvet.

Floral

Satin and florals always go together. Dark florals are a great idea for an evening look and lighter, blooming florals work best for a relaxed daytime outfit.

If the idea of shiny satin puts you off then you can always invest in a dark matte suit which is easy to style and also does not shout PYJAMA!

Mix and match

Gone are the days of not mixing prints. You don’t always have to wear your suit in the same way - play with proportions and sizes as it’s easy to feel like you’re drowning in a long slouchy suit. To avoid this you can pair slim fit trousers with a large kimono or flared trousers with a figure-hugging top.
