#WednesdayWishlist: statement denim you simply can’t do without

accreditation

1. The over-sized, customised denim jacket

All the cool kids are wearing it. From New York street style muses to your favourite bloggers in Johannesburg’s Braamfontein, this jacket makes every outfit.

It wears best with a figure-hugging bodycon dress and a pair of leather booties or thigh-high boots.

2. Frayed and distressed

Frayed hems have always been more of a trend for shorts, but you can now rock the fray with your skinny jeans too. The classic Levi’s 501 jeans have a new addition to their squad: welcome to the 501 Skinny with the traditional button-fly and distressed look.

Now at Levi's stores!

3. Embroidered jeans

Embroidery has made a really impressive sartorial comeback. A touch of floral embroidery on a pair of jeans adds a very feminine, yet edgy feel to your look.

4. Denim skirts

Denim skirts are lovely and versatile because they can be paired with anything from the classic white shirt to a pretty little crop top. Topshop is our absolute favourite place to shop denim skirts.

More unfinished hemlines with this high-low jean skirt. Find a similar style on zappos.com !

5. Sequinned

The most ideal pair of jeans to wear on a night out when you want to give your freakum dresses a little break.

Let these jeans speak for themselves by pairing them with a plain top in your favourite hue like blogger, Simply Palesa.

6. Denim choker

We've seen Kim K-West rock this one a couple of times. Some loathe it and others laud it.

For those who might want to give this seemingly unusual accessory a try because you still want to decide whether you love it or hate it, just pair it with an all-black outfit or as part of a denim-on-denim ensemble.

The great thing about these are that you can even make your own from a pair of jeans you no longer wear.
