That's why I stand firmly behind the appeal of the vertically striped blue and white shirt. Take it to work, to the beach or even wear it as a kimono-style vibe with a tasseled belt.
It is so versatile and keeps being reimagined: the flared sleeved, off-the-shoulder, ruffles, the cropped skirt, the oversized "man's shirt" - the blue and white striped possibilities are endless.
We LOVE: Poetry Masey Stripe Off-Shoulder Top, R499.
Or opt for this Yarn Dyed Stripe Shirt by Witchery, R 799.
It goes with high-waisted jeans, culottes, A-line skirts - and basically underneath any jersey and jacket under the sun.
In summer I find it to be the ideal item for the beach as it a) allows for a Mediterranean feel and b) it's the perfect item for you to through over you bikini as you go for lunch or drinks.
Proof enough? I think so.
