In the past, Saint Laurent has tried to defy the laws of physics with its logo stiletto pumps - which were no doubt aspirational, but seemed rather impractical to actually walk on.
And then the Saint Laurent Fall 2017 runway show ushered in the heel-less stiletto, which had to be explained in laymen's terms by a physicist to the fashion community, who were baffled by how models were gliding so effortlessly in them.

Now, the brand has taken it to the next level.
Anthony Vaccarello and his Saint Laurent team have really reinvented the wheel by adding roller skate pumps to the collection. This is a 3-inch stiletto with wheels attached. Essentially a roller skate.

These designer Heelys come in either sequinned, bold print, pearl or snakeskin designs. (And even in the form of roller skate-stiletto boots).
But beyond aesthetics, how practical are they? Where else can one wear them besides the comfort of a chair?
TeenVogue opined that these are just a more dangerous upgrade from the YSL roller skate sneakers, and we agree. People have broken ankles from walking in ordinary stilettos, so you can only imagine how many more limbs you can break from traipsing around in a pair of stilettos on wheels.
We appreciate the innovative approach to heels, but this time we'll pass.
