This look is informal and perfect for lunch with friends.
Make-up
Apply foundation or concealer only where it is
necessary for a fresh-looking complexion. A good
trick for subtle eye make-up is to use a light-or
medium-colour eyeshadow on the whole lid and
apply a touch of cream with a slight lustre.
Try Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream. For definition, apply a medium-brown eyeshadow along the lash line. For a natural colour on your lips, use lip gloss or neutral lipstick to complement your eye make-up. Use blusher for colour – in either pink or peach – on the apples of your cheeks and a little on your forehead and nose.
Hair
If your hair is naturally curly like our model's, just
wash it, apply some mousse and blow-dry with a
diffuser. Sweep the hair off your face and make
a side parting for an informal look.
Tip: For a natural glow, apply face powder with a slight lustre to your cheeks and brow bone.
Date for cocktails
Evening light is softer on the face and therefore you can apply
heavier make-up and highlights for a more sophisticated look.
Make-up
Skin with a natural glow is the way to go this season. Apply
foundation only where necessary. Apply cream concealer to your
cheeks, chin, forehead and nose, and use bronzing powder instead
of blusher for a more natural glow. Emphasise your eyes with a darker-
brown eyeshadow applied close to the lashes, rather than using an
eye pencil. Apply a little bronze eyeshadow to the lids for extra shine.
We used terracotta lipstick to go with the bronze on our model's eyes.
Hair
Put your hair up loosely at the back with clips. It 's easier if you divide
your hair into sections, and twist and pin each section separately.
Tip: Use a blusher brush to apply the bronzer beneath your chin and your cheek bones – it will make your face appear slimmer. Blend it in well.
An evening out
In the glow of candlelight your make-up can be far more dramatic. Achieve an alluring appearance with smoky-toned eyes and soft, glimmering lips.
Make-up
Apply eyeshadow in a shade that
contrasts with the colour of your eyes
to emphasise them. If you have green
eyes, choose reddish-or purple-tinged
shade; if they're blue, choose brown
with an orange undertone; and for
brown eyes, choose green-toned colour.
We used an orange-tone shadow and
bronze to accent our model's blue eyes.
Hair
If you've opted for dramatic make-up,
outfit and accessories, your hairstyle
can spoil the look if it's overstyled or
too formal. We therefore opted for
a subtle style that frames the face
beautifully and draws attention to
it. We blow-dried her hair into a
sleek style and clipped it back with
a pretty hairclip.
