If they are shaped correctly, they can make our eye area look much younger, by creating a ‘lifting’ illusion above any heavy or tired skin, and they add a really chic appearance to the eyes and face.
This diagram is the basis for creating an ideal eyebrow shape.
The eyebrow begins on a line running more or less through the inner corner of the eye to the outside of the nose. If there is any hair outside this line (on the bridge of the nose), we would remove that.
The outer point of the eyebrow ends more or less on a diagonal line, running through the outer corner of the nose and eye. Any hair beyond this line needs to be removed.
The highest point of the eyebrow arch is about two thirds of the distance of the entire eyebrow length. Even if your eye brows don’t have a natural arch, by tweezing in the right area, you can create an arch.
This diagonal upward line should be longer than the downward line – offering a greater ‘lifting’ illusion than a downward ‘dragging’ illusion above the eye. It’s also interesting to note that a flat eye brow will emphasise heaviness of the skin above the eye, just like a horizontal stripe in clothing will emphasise heaviness in the body.
To further increase the upward illusion and avoid focus on the downward line, taper the eyebrow to a thin, light end.
Everybody can have the perfect eye brow shape! Don’t let your eyebrows’ natural shape deceive you into thinking you can’t!
