Mattify your lipstick in 4 easy steps

accreditation

Matte lips are currently incredibly on trend. Matte is a solid colour, it’s more dull and has less shimmer and shine.

Even though there are hundreds of new matte-finish lipsticks out on the market, you can transform your glossy, shiny lipstick fav into a matte product.

Matte takes the colour and makes it more refined and creamy, giving your lips additional character. You needn’t duck into the bathroom every now and then to touch up your lipstick, as matte does not smudge and lasts longer.

Interested? Then here’s a step by step on how to mattify your lips:

What you will need:

1. Any lipstick of your choice. Our current favourites include Chanel's Rouge Allure Velvet in "La Bouleversante" N°51 AND Maybelline's Color Sensational® Vivids in Brazen Berry.

2. A tissue (1 ply)

3. Translucent powder

Here is a step by step guide:
1.    Apply any lipstick of your choice
2.    Blot your lips with a tissue, so that the tissue can absorb some of the glossy or shininess of the lipstick.
3.    Apply the translucent powder directly to your lips. You can also use a sponge as seen on Into The Gloss.
4.    Smack your lips together to blend the powder with lipstick and voilá!
