Lindsay Lohan has only been on the entertainment radar for a couple of years and in those few short years, she's only had one movie worth mentioning.
Mean Girls, may have been her breakout moment but it was really the bitchy Rachel McAdams who was the star. Lindsay was just the cute stereotype, who went from sweet to sour in few outfit changes and a new shade of lipstick. Oh, how art imitates life.
Lindsay started her career with her sweet freckled face charm and her youthful beauty. In a few short years, she's lost everything which made her unique. She lost an enormous amount of weight, dyed her signature red flamed hair to blonde and joined the Paris Hilton Media Club, garnering more attention for her clubbing lifestyle and not for her career achievements.

Her private and professional life have become tabloid fodder. Lindsa's habitual absenteeism from movie sets and her frequent hospital admissions for "exhaustion" have damaged her reputation. Her need for attention came to all time high when she was spotted sporting her sobriety bracelet whilst partying post-rehab in a teeny bikini and recently highlighted hair.
It may sound slightly rock 'n roll, but along with Paris's time in jail and Britney head shave, Lindsay is just another silly blonde doing something equally stupid. Grouping her with a bunch of attention seeking starlets has depreciated her brand as an actress and made her more of a gossip girl than talented star.
Lindsay's family has, in part, worsened her situation. Her father, an ex-con, frequently talks to the media about his daughter and her problems. He even penned a letter from prison to a TV entertainment network about his relationship with his daughter.
Her mother, Dina, shares her ex-husband's desire to make the headlines and thanks to some serious negotiations, stars in her own reality TV show to launch the other daughter's movie career. Tacky!
There so much information made available about Lindsay that she has lost her mystique. The more we know about a star, the less interested we become and the less likely we will go to see a movie in which they feature.
Stars like Lindsay become a liability at the box office, a risk and it is difficult to think of them as anything else but a train wreck. It's a career dead end when you become stereotyped, and Lindsay's private life is affecting the public perception of her.
Her meteoric rise to tabloid darling has been followed by an anti-Lindsay slump, leaving Lindsay at the tender age of 21 looking more like a washed-out movie star than a rising enigma.
She was once the darling of the fashion world, which in part, was due to stylist extraordinaire Rachel Zoe. Sadly, these days, Lindsay sticks to awful black tights and t-shirts. Where has her glamour gone?
Get it together Lindsay, or else, as we say in South Africa... vroeg ryp, vroeg vrot!
