But at the end of 2013, I came across the 'natural hair movement" in America and realised it is possible to grow out authentic natural hair.
As I went into 2014 with the resolve to transition, I found the task more difficult than I had imagined.
First of all, I did not have access to all the products I would see bloggers in the US using.
Secondly, it was just too painful to continue with the journey (what with breakage, dry hair and a texture I didnt understand).
In December 2014 I relaxed my hair and again in April 2015. After relaxing it in April however, I noticed that I had developed a bald patch on my head.
I was terrified to say the least and to make matters worse my hair was super thin and fragile.
So I made the decision (again) to transition to natural. I have found so much inspiration from being apart of the NH Bots community (a facebook community of naturalistas in Botswana).
So, while my natural hair journey is new and filled with indecisiveness, im so glad I decided to go natural when I did. I am completely in love with my hair texture!
