How to wear your hair

accreditation

Hair has been all about what suits you. The feeling of freedom balanced with the flare of keeping it looking stylish and dazzling.

Whether you like your hair short or long, keeping it in good condition ensures healthy, shiny locks. That means getting rid of all those unruly split ends and keeping your hair clean!

Long hair

Many girls dream of having long flowing locks but most fail to take good care of it. Long hair is timeless – it has always had the fashion stamp of approval. Managing long hair isn't always easy. Sadly though, if you choose to have long hair you need to maintain it.

Trim your ends regularly, if it looks a little flat – add some layers for more definition and body. Vary your look by wearing it straight, then curly, then wavy. All of these looks will work this season. Remember that if you are very short you should rather opt for shorter hair to emphasise your face more. Long hair might weigh you down.

Bobs

Even though Rihanna traded in her bob for a Mohawk, this style is still a winner. A bob can be frizzy or sleek and still look amazing. Whether you have course or sleek hair there is a bob for you. They look great with most shape faces and work if you are short or tall.

This is a great style to emphasise your face structure. The lopsided bob is the real winner. This is not for the faint hearted so only try it if you're feeling bold. Kink the ends and viola one of the most fashionable looks. This is a versatile look that can easily be adjusted to accommodate variety of lengths.

This means you can add length to elongate a round face, or shorten the style to create a horizontal line for those with narrow faces.

Ponytails

To keep the classic look up-to-date, wear your ponytail to the side after curling it with curling tongs. Add a glittery accessory for a little glitz. If you are one of the unlucky ladies, much like my deputy editor, who has fine hair that just won't curl there is hope for you too.

Straighten your hair with a blow dryer and flat-iron, if needed, then pull all your hair to the crown of your head and tie it tightly. Comb it flat to get rid of those fly-away hairs or frizzies. Apply some serum for shine and you are good to go!

Fringes

The short, heavy and blunt fringes are great if you are brave enough. The long peep-thru fringes look is the simplest yet most elegant fringe. Because this season is so "anything goes" it doesn't really matter if your fringe frizzes a bit.

If your hair is extremely frizzy, so much that it's out of control, then it's advisable to steer away from fringes. Asymmetrical fringes are huge; they are versatile which makes them easy to wear. Wear them blunt or textured, at a sharp or soft angle, to the left or right. With all this fringe knowledge you can go wild with them.
